چکیده

Strategies and guidelines for best practice environmental design typically have a singular focus intended outcome, example, green infrastructure management urban cooling in hotter climate. However, when applied to specific situations such as aged care, matters accessibility, wayfinding, safety are also critical. Combining various audit tools offer multiple benefits meet variety of needs thermal comfort, health, well-being, well cost-effectiveness. In the absence tool, using place-based analysis, we developed novel tool external settings residential care facilities (ACFs) incorporating cooling, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), universal criteria. To determine how ACFs perform face increased levels heat required evaluation additional measures. The Audit Tool was tested collaboration with across sub-tropical tropical areas Australia, varying climate, scale, density. Quality life residents, visitors, staff can be supported by provision improve comfort outdoor and, if located appropriately, reduce need an increase internal air-conditioning. aim this article is propose user-friendly Hybrid (HEDAT) support facility managers, planners, consultants inform prioritization targeting interventions monitoring implementation outcomes.

Medication incident reporting in residential aged care facilities: Limitations and risks to residents’ safety

BACKGROUND Medication incident reporting (MIR) is a key safety critical care process in residential aged care facilities (RACFs). Retrospective studies of medication incident reports in aged care have identified the inability of existing MIR processes to generate information that can be used to enhance residents' safety. However, there is little existing research that investigates the limitatio...
